ORGANIC BUFFET + VEGGIE BAR PARTY DETAILS
This is what Sarah said about planning the party- “ORGANIC BUFFET: I loved stepping out into the organic world and discovering some incredibly delicious healthy food for this buffet, I was blown away by the yummy morsels of goodness. Turns out Sugar Coated Mama does healthy too!! It was an exciting opportunity to create a Healthy Organic Buffet for Miranda Kerr’s organic products KORA Organics by Miranda Kerr, hosted by YOGA loft Newcastle. 120 women (& 3 token males!!), a jam packed yoga studio, incredible food, health education, lots of laughs and a whole lot of pampering – what a night!
STYLE: I wanted to create something very lush and fresh to bring in the eco and organic feel, so I went with big glossy Monsteria leaves to create the living green wall. Like every event, I seem to find resources in strange places! Cheryl from Rosehip Flowers kindly asked her sister’s neighbour if she could steal a wack of Monsteria leaves from her backyard, and so it began. We were pinning those bad boys onto the four metre backdrop for hours – happy days! Rosehip Flowers also created stunning flowers using vegetable items including Kale and Artichoke arrangements to tie in with the healthy organic food, one talented lady! Other little touches include burlap wrap with twine around the veges, earthy wooden risers for the compotes, moss, birchwood votives filled with flowers, succulents, brown recycled paper, and twine wrapped letters spelling ORGANIC for the side table (which took way longer than ever imagined!!).
FOOD: For a girl who loves her sweets, I enjoyed crossing to the green side, the organic treats were delicious. Thankfully my friend Megan from Meg’s Bliss Balls whipped up over 150 of her yummy chocolate alternative bliss balls, which have taken off since starting her business recently. Also flying off the table were the Organic Strawberry Mousse, Almond Torta Caprese wrapped in brown paper and twine, Organic Sugar Cookies, Lentil Bites with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, Mini Quiches, Organic Meatballs, Grape Skewers, Fruit Skewers, Caprese Bites, Mini Frittatas, Sorbet and Fresh Lemonade made in the Thermomix. ”
