Minecraft Party Details:
This is what Carol said about planning the party- “Here I am sharing this awesome birthday we styled last year with my friend Mare Romo for her little boy Carlos. He is a super fan of the video game Minecraft so as soon as he said he wanted this theme for this 9th birthday his mom went to town with all the planning. As I have said before, for me it’s a great pleasure to work with such a talented person. She basically came up with all the ideas and this time I just collaborated with my paper products, stationary and a touch here and there. All the graphics, patterns and fonts that resemble those of the game are online free to download. She printed massive amounts of paper to wrap boxes to create her own Minecraft world landscape, blocks and characters. She also made all the desserts served on the main table. I created the banner, food tags, mini bunting, water bottle labels, little flags for the paper straws and signs. I hope you enjoy this party as much as I do!
The dessert table is my most favorite feature. The tablecloth was actually home made out of shiny place mats. We were really lucky to have found these on a local dollar store during the holidays. They were pieced together to make one big tablecloth to make it seem like one giant grass/dirt block. The fabric was also used to wrap boxes that were used as stands for candy and desserts. We used licorice as TNT, camo M&Ms, blue Jell-O, Rock Candy, brownie push pops, sugar cookies and rice crispy treats. Mini chocolate cakes were embellished with a mini birthday banner.
The second big feature is the kid’s table. We covered it in tissue grass to once again give the illusion of a dirt/grass block. All the boxes and the creeper in the centerpiece were actual cardboard boxes wrapped in printed paper. We scoured several Minecraft themed sites until we found all of the print designs and skins for free! Each place setting had a plate, personalized water bottles, with straws and each chair had a little creeper tassel. The food/treat table held the favor boxes, pop corn treats, a birthday banner and several decorated baskets that would hold delicious sandwiches and snacks. Favors included paper masks and t-shirts for girls and boys and treat boxes to be filled with toys and other fun stuff.”
