Old Fashioned Summer Party Details:
This is what Christine said about the party- “Theme of the party was Old Fashioned Summer a little rascals backyard party. We thought of this theme because we really love how simple lives were before, where kids play in the streets or their backyards, bikes and tree houses were the norm. Another thing that got us to thinking about this theme was because our son is allergic to balloons, of all things! so we needed to think of a concept to make the party look festive and not use any kind of balloons.
For the styling we had the help of the talented team of Luxe Parties. Coming from a year where balloons are the trend we did not know what to expect the stylists would do, they suggested to just customise everything, so thats what we did, we had them build a tree house, a lemonade stand, a candy shoppe stand, interior of a tree house where our son’s things from his year of firsts ( and some anecdotes about him) were displayed, signs for the guest tables, food carts, game booths, onsite photo studio etc.
We also had customised sweets and pastries, I had them made in our colour theme which are yellow, mauve and turquoise. And the famous personalised MnMs. Other “backyard” details were also displayed everywhere in the venue by our stylists, like the pool area, where in kids can swim or decorate their own flip-flops.
We did not want a typical children’s party, wherein the host of the party either dressed in a clown costume or a magician, ear shattering sound system and screaming kids during the playing of the games part of the party, but we also would want the kids to enjoy themselves. Luckily the venue of the party has two function halls and a pool in the middle, so we separated the adults from the kids, put all kiddy activities in one hall and set up the adult guest tables in another function hall. We also did not have a typical magic show we opted for something different so we hired Mad Science Philippines for the entertainment, hired a host who read stories and just packed the venue with kid friendly activities like painting, swimming, kiddy spas and more. Also since we only had one game we decided to raffle off a play house and a wii in line with the theme. The kids took home loot bags made with eco friendly materials and activity kits which they can do and share at home with f riends and siblings. For the adult part of the party, we had musicians play relaxing music for them, food were continuously serve and they had a choice of food carts outside by the pool area. The party was really relaxed, like the old parties we had when we where little, kids just running around no set programs or anything. I had asked guests to just wear casual clothing no need to dress up for the party.
Style of the party is a bit of both shabby chic and rustic with being green and using recycled or recyclable materials as a combination.”
