Pinterest Party Details:
This is what Lanissa said about planning this party- “I’ve been looking for a fun opportunity to create all those projects or recipes that I’ve been pinning for months, so I was inspired to create a Pinterest Party! Much of the decor was “PIN” inspired also! I found colorful and fun patterns of papers and fabric to set the style like; dots, chevrons and stripes. I went searching on my friend’s boards to get a feel for what their pins and projects were. Crafts, home decor and fashion/sewing make up much of the pins found on my own and my guest’s pages so I wanted the style of the party to highlight these.
The vision I wanted to bring out the most in decor was the cork, to really make the board and push pins tangible. I found these cool large push pins at Target and the cork boards from various spots like Marshals and thrift stores. The fabric and variety of “ribbons” served as the dainty backdrop with a bunting and bright pops of pom-poms and ric-rac. I printed the Pinterest logo and “pin it” button off the web and snipped them out for the boards also. And of course, we needed a PIN cushion as the topping to our cake stands in the center of the table! I wanted mine to look like a cupcake, so I added a pom as a cherry for fun!
With twine, I strung buttons and vintage wooden spools (collection from garage sales) for some great texture.
Washi tape is a great addition to decorate cups and utensils; it was also a cute decorative closure on the handmade envelopes for the party invitation.
All of the treats on our table were made from recipes from Pinterest and guests were invited to choose their own recipe to make and bring as a Pinterest buffet. We had some delicious new favorites!
Guests also brought one or a few projects to begin or finish at the party. The event was great success for new pinners and crafting vets alike! We swapped some terrific ideas and tricks, and of course some giggles and crafting mistakes! There will certainly be another Pinterest Party planned in the future for my fellow pinners.”
