Cocoa Puff Treats / Tartlets Recipe with Strawberry Frosting
Ingredients / Items Needed:
6 cups Cocoa Puffs Cereal
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
4 cups mini marshmallows
Muffin tin / cupcake pan
Spray muffin tin / cupcake pan with non stick cooking spray.
In microwave safe bowl, melt marshmallows and butter on high in 30 second increments , stirring inbetween until smooth. Add chocolate chips and stir. Microwave again for 30 seconds and mix well. If still lumpy, microwave again for 30 seconds.
Add cocoa puffs to melted mixture and stir until all the cocoa puffs are coated.
Using a spoon coated in butter gently press coated cocoa puffs into muffin tin compartments (fill about 3/4 full). Cool for about 20 minutes.
Turn pan on it’s side to gently release coco puff treats. Frost treats with homemade strawberry frosting (recipe below) or canned frosting. Add chocolate sprinkles for garnish if desired.
Strawberry Buttercream Frosting Recipe
1/3 cup seedless
strawberry jam or preserves
red food coloring
3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp whipping cream
Mix together sugar and butter in a bowl with a hand mixer on low speed until well incorporated (about 3 minutes). Add the vanilla extract and whipping cream and beat on medium speed for about 1 minute. Mix in 1/3 cup seedless strawberry preserves or jam and 6 drops of red or pink food coloring.
