Vintage Cowboy and Cowgirl Party Details:
This is what Jackie said about planning the party- “My twins were turning 5 this year and really wanted horses, so my business partner and I decided to go with a Vintage inspired Cowboy/Cowgirl theme. Once we found the amazing Chaparral Ranch, located in Milpitas, CA our ideas took off. I decided to do a pink & aqua theme with hints of chocolate, tan and vanilla. We found the very talented Erin Twaddell from socalcrafty on easy to create the adorable invitation which really brought the theme together. I started making tissue paper tassels in pink, aqua, tan and vanilla (which took weeks), since we knew we wanted to use the tassels for behind the hay display we were going to create. I bought over 80+ yards of oyster colored burlap to make table skirts and overlays for all of the tables. I, of course, called my one and only caker, Lesley Wright of the Royal Bakery, to make the cakes for the twins. Then I contacted Casey Jones, of Casey’s Confections, to make boot and hat cookies to match my invitation. The cookies were STUNNING!!! About a week and a half before the party, I started making tons of chocolate dipped oreos in chocolate, aqua and pink to adorn the dessert table. The night before I made a few dozen cupcakes and with my cricut, I made cupcake wrappers. I also used my cricut to make the watering hole table centerpiece to match the invitation and decor. A couple of weeks before the party I made the adorable personalized chalkboard signs with Aidan and Maddy’s loves and information. I used foam core board and chalk markers to get the effect. I make these for most of my parties. My kids LOVE them and I love making them. For lunch we served grilled hotdogs, homemade cornbread muffins (by me) and applesauce. We boxed each lunch in individual brown boxes and tied a pink or blue napkin (depending on boy or girl) and wooden utensil to the top with jute twine. I also served pink and blue lemonade, which the kids went crazy for!!! For eac h table I made real chalkboard signs, gift table=”Loot”, Drink table=”Watering Hole”, and the Food Table=”Chow”. After the “chow” all of the kids were treated to a real horseback ride on real horses with the wonderful trainer’s at Chaparral Ranch! It was thrilling to see the kids ride for the first time!! My dear friend and gifted photographer, Carolyn Johnstone of Carolyn Johnstone Photography was kind enough to shoot the party. The kids and the parents all had a wonderful time and my twins, Aidan and Maddy are still in Vintage inspired Cowboy/Cowgirl Bliss”!!
