What a fun bridal shower! I love the black, white, and turquoise color scheme used along with the black and white polka dot pattern; it’s so cute! This shower is full of really great ideas that would work perfectly for a bridal shower as well as a girls night out or adult birthday party.

1950s Housewife Bridal Shower Details:
This is what Kara Tidd said about planning/styling the party- “Grab your favorite recipe and put on your pearls….it’s time for Lynsey’s 1950s Housewife Bridal Shower!!!
When guests entered they were encouraged to” Take a Drink… Leave Advice” The advice cards and bottles of Coke were displayed on an old ironing board that any housewife would be proud to call her own.
The bride to be and her shower guests had fun with the photo props; 50’s eye glasses, oversized diamond rings, 50’s headbands, red lipstick, and mini chalkboards. The DIY photo prop backdrop was made from old curtains and plastic tablecloths.
The little guests enjoyed the photo props and coloring bride and groom pictures.
The dessert table featured super cute polka dot cookies, graphic sugar cookies, fun cupcakes, and a cake with a lovely topper. The sweets were served on DIY red and aqua cake stands. Guests were happy to see Cookies to Go bags so they could take home a sweet treat.
Décor included vases of baby’s breath that gave a retro feel, vintage table cloths, old milk jugs, and old baking and cooking supplies throughout the shower space.
The bride to be looked simply amazing in her polka dot 50’s inspired dress (check out those legs and shoes)!!!
Before leaving guests were told, “Thanks for dropping by, Take home a little pie” and had the option of taking home an apple or cherry pie as a shower favor”.
