Neon 80’s Skate Party Details:
This is what Lauren said about planning/styling the party- “My friend Kara with Lillian Hope Designs helped me come up with this bright theme for my daughter’s 10th birthday. I knew I wanted something bright and involving duct tape (her obsession). She loves to go skating so we decided to incorporate that as well. We held the party at my neighborhood clubhouse and then went to the skating rink after. I transformed the room with plain white walls by adding black paper on all the windows and black lights to set the mood. I created a chandelier out of a hula hoop and hung it in the middle of the table where the girls sat. For the table centerpieces I bought some glow bracelet spheres from Wal-mart and some lava lamps from Toysrus. I bought black paper from Hobby Lobby and used neon paint and splattered it all over. I placed a black light in the middle of the table which made all of the neon colors and paint really pop! For the dessert table we had Oreo pops, cupcakes, cookies (some shaped like skate s), neon water bottles from dollar spot at Target, giant neon gumballs and glow-in-the-dark cotton candy. I created different stations for the girls so they could get ready to go the skating rink later. They created duct tape hair bow, got a rad 80’s hair-do complete with a hair crimper and neon claw clips and painted glow-in-the-dark neon artwork. All girls received glow in the dark aviators, light up wands, finger-less mesh gloves and neon stretch bracelets. After getting fixed up in their neon 80’s gear everyone was ready to go to the skating rink! The best part is that all of the adults were able to enjoy this theme and take a blast into the past, as well as entertain a bunch of 10 year old girls”!
