5th Annual County Fair Birthday Party
5th Annual County Fair Birthday Party Details:
This is what Lauren shared about the party- “This party took place in a delightful backyard, in Westlake Village, CA, and the challenge was to transform the space from plain ‘ol backyard to a magical day at a dreamy County Fair. The client, owner and founder of COLOURPOP make up brand, is a long time client of SEND IN THE CLOWNS, and was excited to put her trust in SITC and see a reinvention of her property for the 7th celebration at their home, designed by SEND IN THE CLOWNS.
Send in the Clowns!
The CEO of SEND IN THE CLOWNS, Leesa Zelken, pulled out all the stops and found multiple ways to delight the client, the birthday girls, and the crowd. Highlights included a ribbon-festooned horse drawn carriage that greeted guests on the front lawn, a bake-sale inspired birthday cake display with FIVE naked and ombre cakes in a variety of sweet colors and styles. Also, a stripe-y carnival tent that housed a primp and preen braid bar, carnival fixins’ including popcorn, snow cones, a candy station, and many more treats & eats!
We also put together fun craft stations and booths for the guests to enjoy, including a candy sand art station (similar to build your own pixie sticks!), cookie Doodle art station, a make your own flower crown and flower cone station, decorate your own cupcake station, a balloon artist, classic pony rides, a piñata station with piñatas resembling farmer’s market fruits, a chalk-art photo booth with a personalized Reese & Stella backdrop, and fun goodie stands (fruit, treat, candy, flower) for the kids to collect goodies in farmer’s market apple baskets, with customized satin ribbon embellishments and clever tags that said, “Fill “er Up!”
Décor touches included crisp white and cream-colored jumbo balloons with dangling tails of quaint pennant banners in county fair colors. Giant confetti clouds balloon sculptures filled the sky, and Reese’s birthday wish, a pony with wings that flies, was depicted in a mesmerizing sculpture and place high atop the roof. The final WOW factor décor touch, was an actual WOW sculpture of balloons, that guests could see from front and back, that looked like pooling confetti that fell from the sky!
Mixed in with the balloons, was a darling assortment of vintage furniture, including an old timey pie chest, a lemonade stand of reclaimed wood that showcased the “bake sale”, and pint-sized kiddie furniture in a variety of whites, that set a tone for a stylish home-spun feel. Finally, kid-sized market stands, adorned with illustrated sherbet-colored signage gave the party a whimsical feel that lent a playful tone to the event. And, not to mention a shabby fence in stallation around the perimeter of the property that really gave the space a fair-feel”.
