VINTAGE CHIC BICYCLE PARTY DETAILS:
Here’s what Kara said about planning the party-
I styled this Bicycle party for my daughters 9th birthday! Lilly LOVES riding her bike and wanted to do a bicycle theme party at the park where all of her friends could bring their bikes to ride around the trails! Well it was a great idea ..in theory!! We live in Oklahoma where the wind can be terrible. I got to the park the morning of her birthday and began to set up .the 20MPH winds would not allow for that. So we had to change it last minute!! I had a friend who owns the gymnastics facility my daughter attends and she let us use her parking lot for the girls to ride the bikes and an upstairs room for the party set up (LIFE SAVER)!!
Once the girls arrived they were given bike baskets full of water bottles, trail mix, and a scavenger hunt for their bike excursion! We went out to the large parking lot which had grass fields and tress surrounding it and the girls road their bikes around and played for about 45 minutes. Then we went upstairs and enjoyed cake and sweets!! The girls got elastic ponytail holders to take home in bike bags that Lilly made!
Lilly was in love with the mint, coral, pink, and gold colors she had seen on pinterest! So we went with those! It was my favorite color combo yet! I loved using the gold spray paint and gold glitter to make the mason jars, cupcake stands, bikes, frames, and more! I used a roll of gold chevron paper from Paper Source for the table runners. I used a wrapping paper I found at TJMaxx for the backdrop along with a poster from the Printable Bike Party Collection in my shop. I loved the new rage of tissue tassels on the large balloons; so I did that for the sides of the table! I used a little babies breath and then some amazing sweets!!!
The cake was made by Paisley and Plaid. All of the AMAZING cookies were made by my best friend Alyssa from Bonbon Du Jour! The Oreo pops were made by my friend, Lauren, they are always everyones favorite sweet to eat at any party I throw! I usually purchase the cupcakes from Wal-Mart for cheap and then spice them up with decorations. It is a great way to save some money on a party! I spiced them up with adorable fondant toppers from Harriets House Of Cakes.”
