This fantastic DISNEY’S FROZEN THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Suzanne Thien of Sweetopia Events.
This is always such a fun party theme! I especially love the darling Olaf cake; it’s so fun! I also love the cute and simple cupcakes and cookies topped with snowflakes! This party is full of fabulous ideas that would be perfect for a birthday party or for a Frozen viewing party!
My favorite Disney’s Frozen party ideas and elements from this delightful birthday event are:
- The darling cupcakes placed in cones and topped with a blue fondant snowflake
- The cute natural cookies topped with a snowflake
- The fun melted snowman drink with eyes and a nose floating in it
- The darling Olaf cake
- and MORE!
“My son absolutely loves “Olaf” – the snowman from the latest Disney animated movie, ‘Frozen”. So I decided to focus on this adorable character for his Birthday Dessert Table. Winter, ice and snow were the elements that I applied to both the food and the decor.
I baked some cupcakes in ice cream cones and made some shortbread cookies a few nights prior to the party. Both of these were embellished with beautiful fondant snowflake toppers made by my dear friend, Carole from “C for Cake”.
I also made some blue jelly, which I let them set in an ice cube tray to tie in with our winter theme. Guests simply scooped out a single jelly cube (or more) if they wanted some. Another dessert item on the table were steamed custard buns. I bought these from the frozen (excuse the pun) section of my local Chinese grocery store. I thought that they looked like snowballs plus they tasted yummy too.
The Olaf cake was lovingly made by my husband. I never knew he had it in him…! After scouring the internet for recipes, we decided on using a cakepop recipe for the cake. Basically, we made 3 large cakepops and stacked them together. The hardest part was to mould the shape of Olafs face. The other tricky part was drenching him in white chocolate to ensure an even coating throughout. Putting in the final decorating touches was fun. A portion of a baby carrot was used for Olaf’s nose, marshmallows for his feet & front teeth. The only component that wasnt edible was his eyes. I cheated by using googly eyes that I found in my kids craft box. All in all, we were very pleased with the result…”
