Bohemian Tribal Party Details:
This is what Audrey said about planning/styling the party- “I really wanted to create a dreamy, magical setting for Mias 2nd birthday party and I love what we came up with! I chose purples and plums with gold accents for the color theme because I just love the way those colors work together. I came across an image of a dreamcatcher in those colors and that sealed the deal on the theme. I crafted dreamcatchers, arrow garlands, and feather headbands to create a Native American inspired setting and used lots of antlers, garlands, flowers, and sparkly gold accents as details. The printable items had purple watercolor accents and a floral antler graphic. I really love how everything looked set against the woodsy background and rustic picnic tables of the state park. The sun setting on the lake and trees was also perfect.
The dessert table was set against a backdrop that my super handy husband made out of a pallet. We hung DIY garlands and dreamcatchers over it, and used lots of vintage lace doilies on the dessert and banquet tables to continue with the bohemian feel. I think my favorite DIY of the party was the dip dying. I dip dyed the muslin favor bags and the table runner to go with the watercolor image on the printed items. It was way easier than I thought it would be, and I love the way they turned out.
We set up Mias teepee (our gift to her) at the party and provided toy bows and arrows. Seeing the kids run in and out of the teepee with arrows in hand and little feathers poking up behind their heads was one of my favorite parts of the night. We also had canoes available and a canoe race. We all sat down at the long banquet table for dinner and dessert, and ended the evening opening presents by lantern light.
My biggest tip for planning a party is to start way ahead of time. It will give you plenty of time to just brainstorm and gather ideas before anything is finalized. I seriously took months to decide on my theme and just mull over it before I ever bought or created anything. Then I gathered things here and there as I thought of them or came across them to avoid having to make hasty decisions.”
