“I had so much fun organising this Hawaiian-themed birthday party. This event was for my daughter’s sixth birthday party which featured a dessert and food table. Set to a fantastic chalk rendition/background of beautiful Waikiki Bay, this party shows that a luau, with its traditional motto of fresh fruit and warm tropical colours, can be easily achieved.
Presented on a standard white table setting, the dessert and food table are adapted to theme by the inclusion of retro hula girl toppers. If possible, Hawaiian parties look fantastic with a splash of retro; in this case classic green and yellow colours add to the decor, along with mason jars, paper straws, and palm tree and pineapple drink stirrers.
The food table featured mini hotdogs and burgers, and a zesty tropical Hawaiian punch. The dessert table catered to the sweet-tooth with a selection of yummy treats, including lime and coconut luau cupcakes, salted caramel, chocolate and macadamia praline tartlets, cake pops, tropical fruit kebabs, and a pineapple and coconut with mango butter cream icing birthday cake in the centre”.
