Jurassic World Party Details:
This is what Kameela said about designing/styling the party- “With the kids being out of school for the summer, I’m always looking for new fun and exciting things to keep them entertained. Seeing this movie ranked first on our bucket list. Can you believe it’s been 22 years since the first Jurassic movie was released? This is something worth celebrating, which means a movie premier party is order. So I quickly pulled together a few elements that I will share with you today, hoping it will give you a little inspiration to host a party for a little paleontologist in your life.
The Design: We pulled inspiration from the special logo designed just for the fourth Jurassic installment. The colors include a smokey gray tone, black, with a burst of burst of blue. This palette is unlike the traditional neutral earthy tones you typically see for dinosaur themed parties. The colors were fun to work with and the perfect inspiration for our movie premier design. Beth Kruse Custom Creations designed a printable set full of fun and adventure, which you will see throughout the party photos.
The Venue: My family and I love visiting the local museums in our area including the Natural Science Museum of Houston Sugar Land. They have an amazing Paleontology exhibit that served as the perfect backdrop for our party. The exhibit includes triceratops, ankylosaurus, and stegosaurus, as well as many exquisite fossils from the Paleozoic era. There is also a special Dig Pit exhibit, where little scientists can dig for dinosaur fossils!
The Party: For the invitation, I envisioned a pair of tickets similar the printed ones at a movie theater. I love how they turned out and were perfect for our premier party! Upon arrival guest received a VIP Access pass to wear and it even included a barcode for scanning! There are tons of areas to explore at the museum and learn new fun facts. We tested their Paleontology IQ with our trivia cards! I was surprised by the number of facts my son answered correctly. This is a great way to get your kids excited about the about the movie and have fun learning about dinosaurs! He is a dinosaur genius. You can access the free printable HERE.
Guests filled up on popcorn at our mobile Popcorn Cart! Everyone loves popcorn right… and it’s definitely a must at every movie themed party! Each guest also received a fun movie packed filled with themed favors, water and our themed dinosaur disposable cups for their drinks. Can you imagine how excited I was to find the Mike & Ike candy packs and Dino PEEPs for $1 and they matched the movie theme! 1 point for MOM!
The Sweets: For our dessert table, I layered in smokey gray tones and an amazingly burst of blue hues. I staged the table with large galvanized metal letters and dinosaur figurines that I dressed with complimenting spray paint. I also sprinkled in skeleton figurines that mirrored our custom printable set! On our dessert table we included a beautiful naked cake, marshmallows, themed sugar cookies, airbrushed macaroons, gum ball tube favors, and cupcakes topped with hand sketched cupcake toppers. Our topper kept our guests busy as they worked to sort through the skeleton parts in an attempt to form a full dinosaur image.”
