Modern Aztec Baby Shower Details:This is what Stephanie said about designing/styling the party-
“We are so excited to share this shower with you, as we threw it for our older sister who is pregnant with her first baby! together with our mom, we created a midcentury modern bash that was fit for a new baby boy on the way. We used bright, mod colors, and since it was a boy baby shower, there were no flowers to be seen! Only the most adorable cacti we could find :)
our sister Michelle has always loved clean, modern and sophisticated design, so we wanted to emulate this in her shower. we use the mommy-to-be’s ideas for her nursery as a starting point for our designs in most of our baby showers. That way we know what she loves, and she can possibly use decor left over after the party is over. As for our sister, her whole house has a midcentury modern vibe, and she is decorating her nursery the same, plus some bows and arrows. We took this theme and ran with it!
The centerpieces were made out of the cutest cacti we’ve ever seen, garnished with white rocks and planted in custom color-block painted terra cotta pots. Three main colors made up our palette: orange, green and turquoise. We alternated beautiful napkins from la tavola on each table, and coordinated the taper candles, table numbers, and pots to match each one. Each place setting included a custom stained wood charger with sticker place cards, a custom made cactus sugar cookie from roni sugar creations, and vintage style glassware.
Our guests played shower games on mini gold clipboards and were gifted some adorable mini cactus plants to take home. No cheesy shower games or prizes, here! We wanted our guests to have a great time, and even gave them a little mommy’s mocktail as soon as they stepped in the door.
We are so excited for our older sister to have her first baby, and hope her shower serves as inspiration for others in this exciting time!”
