Tropical Themed Dockside Engagement Party

"We were so honored that Eddy was able to photograph Lauryn and Steven's engagement party. The party took place at American Social, a boat-friendly, waterside restaurant. Next to the restaurant, the bride's family docked their boat, which was another spot where the couple and their guests celebrated their engagement. Steven proposed to Lauryn on the Fourth of July, right in front of Lauryn's family's boat, and the couple wanted to include the boat in their celebration for that reason. The party had a tropical theme because tropical locations hold a special place for the bride and her family. Since 1997, the bride has been visiting her family's home in Treasure Cay, Abaco Bahamas during the holidays. The Bahamas is so special to Lauryn and her family that she and Steven will be getting married there next November.

As far as the details of the party, the bride planned most of the decorations. She chose to decorate with colors that remind her of her family vacations--the blues from the water and the pinks from the sunset.
