Paw Patrol Party Details:

This is what Leona shared about the party- “This party was planned for my son’s 3rd birthday. A Paw Patrol themed party was a given because at the time it was his favorite show. Plus all of his friends loved it too so how could it not be a fun time?
Since his actual birthday is New Year’s Eve we held a brunch time party. Around the holidays it is hard to get parents to commit to an afternoon because it seems like all your day is taken up. So with morning everyone still has the rest of their day free. Which everyone loved!
I had an obstacle course set up as the activity.  It was our Paw Patrol Academy and they had to cross the lava bridge (paper tissue) to get into the main room (aka my dining room).  To graduate they had to:
  • Shoot the basketball and make it in the hoop three times.
  • Play a tune (random sounds!) on the floor piano.
  • Eat a donut hanging from string.
  • Roll a ball and hit the bowling pins.
  • Save a cat from a tree.  I had a ladder and an adult helping children climb up.  My husband cut a branch out of our yard and I spray painted it white.
  • Step through the ladder (with an adult to help) into my kitchen where they finished up in the bounce ring.  My husband just nailed pieces of wood to make a simple small ladder.
Everything that I used were things that I already had.  It’s simple to decorate when you think about it, just use your child’s toys.  If you are having a theme that he/she likes then more than likely they have toys that would work great.  I just emptied his bedroom!  He got the floor piano for Christmas which worked great and got the bounce ring for his birthday when he was two.
He loves puzzles and so I put a few together and taped them on the back to mount on the walls.  The image above the fireplace was a puzzle.
I bought the initials BRM (Bronson Reid Morelock) at Hobby Lobby.  And used baskets that I had as stands and risers.  I also bought a helium tank from Hobby Lobby to blow up the balloons so I could buy the ones that I wanted and didn’t have to worry about going to a party store to blow them up.
Another thing, instead of gifts, I asked everyone to donate to a cause.  I love The Birthday Project where they provide birthday parties for homeless children. I showed a video from the site at the party so the adults could see what it was.  I set up Bronson’s own page which you can do easily through the site to let friends donate easily.
We did the same for his 1st and 2nd birthday but he didn’t fully get it.  But this time I was explaining what it was to him and that his friends weren’t going to bring gifts but were helping other children.  When I explained that they didn’t have homes he said without skipping a beat ‘they can sleep in my club house’ which is his swing set outside.  Melted my heart.”
