With Summer coming to an end I thought I would share my fun and “cool” LABOR DAY TREAT recipes! I made these cute desserts for a rainbow themed birthday party but they would be a hit at any BBQ, party or get together! AND, they are SIMPLE to make!
Find instructions and recipes for my raspberry lemon popsicles & slushie tubes below…
SLUSHIE TUBES:
I wanted to come up with a different and fun way to use Gumball Candy Tubes so I thought, “what about slushy tubes!”
These were so simple to make, and the kids LOVED them!
You will need:
1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Sweetened Kool-Aid Drink Mix
3 Cups Ice
1- Place 1 cup water, 1/2 cup of your favorite flavor of Kool-Aid and 1 cup of ice cubes in a blender. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.
2- Add an additional 2 cups of ice cubes & blend again, until smooth.
3- Pour slushie drink into clear candy tubes & place in a bowl of ice, or serve immediately. Store leftover slush tubes in the freezer. Makes 7 (1/2 cup) servings.
The fun striped paper straws are available in my shop, too.
RASPBERRY LEMON POPS/POPSICLES:
Everyone loves a good & cold frozen pop! These creamy raspberry lemon popsicles were so yummy…and SO cute, don’t you think?!
Snow Cone Cups {available here}
Striped Wooden Spoons {available here}
You will need:
2 Cups Frozen Raspberries
2 Cups Milk
1 Cup Plain Yogurt
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
Flat Cookie Sheet
8 Snow Cone Cups {available in my shop here}
8 Wooden Spoons
1- Place 8 small plastic or paper cups upright on a flat cookie sheet {child size cups work best}. Put snow cone cups upright inside of the plastic/paper cups {to hold upright while freezing}.
2- Combine raspberries, yogurt, milk, sugar & lemon juice in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
3- Pour mixture into each snow cone cup. Freeze for 2 hours.
4- Insert sticks into center of mixture. Freeze 5 hours or until firm.
5- Peel away top of snow cone cups as shown and serve!
Makes 8 popsicle treats.
I hope you enjoy! Happy Labor Day weekend!
xo,
Kara

These are so adorable!!
Is there anything I can do about the horrible taste of paper straws. I used them for my daughter’s birthday party, and none of the little girls would finish their drinks. :(
I haven’t ever had weird tasting ones? I’m curious now though, where did you get them? I use paper straws all the time (:
What brand were they? I have some that I ordered here & used them & they didn’t taste at all. I wonder if it was the drink you were using?
These look so yummy right now to me!
Love it!!
What do you mean by sweetened kool-aid? Is that the ones in the plastic container and are we suppose to prepare the kool aid first? Sorry, these are sooo cute and I’m anxious to make them!
I would like to know where did you get the wired colorful popsicle holders from?
may i ask also where you got the darling colourful wired popsicle holders? Not only do they make the cones functional, but they are adorable. many thanks
