Susanne said this about planning the party-
“For my daughter’s 8th birthday, we went with a woodland theme. We chose pink and brown as the main colors. I had a lot of fun making the cake (and working with fondant for the first time!). For the party favors, each girl took home a journal and twig pencil as well as a home made sleeping mask featuring different woodland animals. Activities included painting bird houses and playing “cocoon wrap”, which was my daughter’s woodland version of the Halloween game, “mummy wrap”. The treat table included fruity fairy wands, meringue mushrooms, toadstool cupcakes, squirrel mix, acorn cookies, wafer sticks, and hedgehog doughnuts.”

Thank you so much for featuring my daughter’s party! It was so much fun to put together. :)
Wondering how you adapted the cocoon wrap? Did you use toilet paper or something other material?
Thanks,
~Christine (ciovannicci@hotmail.com)
HI! Love your party! can you share the templates for the felt masks? I would rather make my own than buy them made!Thank you!!:)
Hi Kelly,
I think you replied to my comment instead of to Kara — the blog post writer — so I don’t know if she will receive your message. I did make owl, squirrel, fox and racoon masks for my son’s bday a few years ago. If you’d like, you can email me at art4everyone.christine@gmail.com and I will send you electronic copies of what I have…
So original!!!! LOVE the meringue mushrooms, and the cake is too too cute.
would love to know how to do the cake please
