NiGi started by accident. Two sisters from the small Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago stumbled upon a business that used their creativity and artistic talent to support their family. The business evolved and what started as a hobby and gifts for friends supported four sisters and their mom for over twenty years.

Nicole (Ni), super mom of four, manages the design and manufacturing of each collection, carefully selecting classic styles, fabrics and patterns which she believes are timeless and bring back nostalgic feelings of when there was a touch of simplicity and innocence in life. Bright satin ribbons, cool cotton fabrics, soft pastels and striking black and white – they are all specially chosen and cut.

Giselle (Gi), mom of one sweet boy, is the artistic hand behind each piece. Each hand-painted design is a NiGi original stemming from her creativity. “Divine inspiration” is how she explains it. If you look closely you will see something that is unique to NiGi. Each appliqué is made from bits of material, chosen to complement the garment and is hand-crafted into the design, meticulously placed and then delicately painted. Witnessing the ease in which she does it, it is almost as though the paint is an extension of her body which gives NiGi its artistic whimsical flow.

After travelling around the world for over three years on board the Queen Elizabeth 2, their younger sister Danielle and her husband, Dwight, knew that NiGi needed to be introduced to the rest of the world. Now NiGi offers its top-of-the-line clothing to a North American audience, opening sales online and through local boutiques.

NiGi blends playful creations and hand-painted designs which kids love. “Never stifle creativity” is NiGi’s motto, and it is an experience each sister lives every day. Inspired by our kids’ amazing personalities, we believe that what our little ones wear should celebrate their individuality. Unique kids.
