Kara's Party Ideas Up & Away Travel Themed Birthday Party {Planning, Decor, Ideas}

This darling UP UP AND AWAY TRAVEL THEMED FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY was shared by Belinda Ramanauskas of Styled by Belle

.

What a darling party! I especially love all of the cute up up and away themed treats, such as the cloud macarons, hot air balloon cookies, and airplane propeller cake pops just to name a few. I also love the darling map backdrop that matches the cupcake wrappers; it’s so fitting and fun. This party is filled with fabulous ideas that would work perfectly for a Hot Air Balloon or Airplane Party as well as a Travel Themed Party.

My favorite Up Up And Away Travel party ideas and elements from this adorable first birthday occasion are:

  • The cute hot air balloon photo booth made out of a large wicker basket and a giant balloon
  • The darling flying themed cupcakes
  • The white cake with a red airplane on top
  • The cute map invitations
  • The fun vintage suitcase decorations
  • and MORE!

Up Up and Away Travel Party Details:This is what Belinda said about the party-

“Arren’s mother Sev was after something quite old world and inspired by hot air balloons.

Elise from Sweet Scarlet Designs created the perfect invitation which featured a vintage world map in the background and sweet hot air balloon and vintage aeroplane images. The invitations were printed on canvas and rolled up in scrolls then tied with rustic twine.

Guests were greeted at the party with vintage suitcases, vintage toy aeroplanes and lots of travel paraphernalia such as an Atlas, globes and travel maps.

The dessert table featured rustic brown canvas linen, hanging hot air balloons and the vintage map backdrop.

Sweet treats included:

2-tier white chocolate & raspberry cake. A simple elegant design in the taupe colouring with fondant old world plane topper

Cupcakes with various designs – clouds, bunting, aeroplanes

Cloud cookies on sticks

Red & white striped hot air balloon cookies to match the style of the hanging hot air balloons

Propeller cake pops

Cloud shaped chocolate macarons

Jelly pots

We also set up a cute photobooth using a wicker basket with a giant red helium balloon tied to it to resemble a hot air balloon. There was a cloudy sky backdrop and it set a cute scene for the photos of guests and children who could sit in the basket”.

I am wondering if you would be willing to share where you found this backdrop at? I am looking to decorate my classroom in a travel theme this year and this would be perfect(if it isn’t too pricey) to cover a bulletin board or 2!
