This is what Kristin said about planning/styling the party- “My sweet little boy turned 3 on June 25th and we celebrated with a train themed birthday party. He is absolutely obsessed with trains so the theme was perfect! Most of the train parties that Ive seen use a red and blue color scheme so I wanted to change it up a little without being too different. Green and navy seemed like the perfect color combination based on where we were hosting the party.
The party was held at our house and set up similar to the way a train station would be set up. There was a waiting area that contained food and drinks, a ticket station, loading platform, baggage claim, and even a train tunnel!
My absolute favorite part of the dessert table was the FABULOUS cake by Chicakdee Hill Cakes. I sent them a copy of the invitation and told them the birthday boy would love a 3-D train and they did the rest.
My other favorite party elements include the Baggage Claim area that was set up inside of our Pottery Barn Kids Cameron Wall Storage System and the realistic looking train tunnel that was set up in our fireplace.
Adjacent to the Baggage Claim area we had a 6-foot long train wall decal from Janette Design. I had every intention of renting a real train (the little ones they have a fairs or the mall), but once I found out how much it would cost I decided against it. This train was perfect because the area of the house I set it up in is also Chases play area and now he has this huge train to look at every day when hes playing with his Thomas trains”.
