Vintage Schoolhouse Party Details:
This is what Louisa said about planning/styling the party- “This DIY shower for a teacher was inspired by vintage alphabet flashcards and old schoolhouses. Lots of classroom elements were used in the decor, including chalkboards, alphabet flashcards, math flashcards, an old student desk, rulers, apples, school bells, and more. We made it playful with old-style educational toys, like alphabet blocks and an abacus. Since the celebration was for a baby girl, we added feminine touches with ribbon and flowers in little vintage bottles and jars. We also handmade bunting banners using pretty fabrics in the shower’s theme colors: red, pink, and aqua with accents of yellow. My favorite parts of the shower were the student sentence strips bought from a teacher store that we used to decorate with written phrases like “B is for Baby” and “M is for Mommy.” An old easel chalkboard was used to display a “classroom schedule” for the shower, with times for lunch, opening gifts, and &q uot;dismissal.” The favors were little lunch bags that included a “note from the teacher” and a tag that read “T is for Thank You.”
