This spectacular Glam Instagram 13th Birthday Party was submitted by Kara’s Party Ideas’ very own Amber Pugmire.
Wow, what a party! Everything is so girly, fabulous and fun. I adore all of the amazing backdrops, banners, garlands and fringe! This party is just too much and is packed full of impressive ideas that could work perfectly for Instagram fans everywhere.
My favorite Instagram party ideas and elements from this fantastic birthday bash are:
- The fabulous DIY Polaroid banners
- The awesome invitation
- The cute cake
- The cute “insta-grahams”
- The clever hashtag cookies
- The cute paninis and hot chocolate made to look like the Instagram logo
- The fabulous and shimmering sequined dessert table backdrop and table cover
- The cute camera lens brownies
- The fun Instagram scavenger hunt activity
- The fabulous Instagram themed confetti
- and MORE!
This is what Amber shared about planning the party-
“Ever since my almost-teenager discovered Instagram, she was obsessed! So, when it came time to decide on a theme for her 13th birthday party it was a no-brainer. Of course, it HAD to be an Instagram party!
For the color palette, I decided to incorporate the rainbow colors on the Instagram logo and then added gold, glitter and pink to make it a bit more glamorous and girly. From sequin tablecloths and gold glitter confetti to sparkling cider and gold-ware, I added elements of glitz and glam wherever I could.
Invitations & Decor-
I set the glamorous tone for the party by personalizing the envelopes for the invitations with gold letter stickers. The invites themselves were cleverly made to look like an Instagram post but contained all of the details for the party.
One of my favorite décor elements from the party were the DIY polaroid banners I made using photos from my daughter’s Instagram profile. I found the tutorial for how to make them from The Thinking Closet and I LOVED how they turned out!
As the guests arrived, they were each given notebooks and pens and invited to sit down for a 15 minute crash-course Powerpoint presentation all about Instagram. They discussed social media and smart phone cheats, tips, photography and tricks.
After that, the girls had a photo session where they tried out the photobooth props and some of the selfie and Instagram tricks they just learned. The photobooth was made from a simple backdrop of colored cardstock, cut into circles and secured to the wall.
Food & Desserts-
For dinner, the guests were served paninis and hot chocolate arranged on their plates to look like the Instagram logo. I added sour candy strips and chocolate Reisen candies for the view finder and rainbow. There was also pasta salad and chips to eat, as well as sparkling cider to drink.
For dessert, the girls ate cake, red velvet hashtag whoopie pies, pink “comment” sugar cookies, ‘camera lens’ brownies, and ‘don’t be jelly’ jello shots.
For the main party activity, the girls went on a mall scavenger hunt. What could be more perfect than teens going to the mall and taking selfies? The guests were divided into teams and given ‘#photogenic’ t-shirts to wear in their team colors. In keeping with the glamorous elements of the evening, the girls were taken to and from the mall in a stretched limousine.
After the scavenger hunt, the girls returned to our house to watch an Eventsta.gram slideshow of the party & scavenger hunt photos they had posted on Instagram throughout the night. Prizes were awarded to the winning teams.
Before the girls went home, they filled white paper bags (made to look like the Instagram logo using a free printable from No Biggie) with candy in a rainbow of colors including gum, skittles, jelly beans, and fruit slices. There could also choose from wax lips, mustache whistles, “duck lips” whistles, silver camera charms and comment / emoji note pads.”
