Party Styling: Prints For Events
“When I was asked to style this shower for my future sister in law I was so excited. I immediately envisioned paper flowers, bright colors, and festive flare, and I am so happy with how my vision came together.
I started with the invitation. I was inspired by Mexican embroidery – specifically the kind you see on traditional peasant dresses. I drew up some simple floral shapes and patterns and included them throughout all the printables. We ended up with printable invitations, food labels, drink tags, water bottle labels, signs, mad lib cards and advice cards. These are all available for purchase in my shop, Prints For Events.
I accented with cacti potted in mexican cans, DIY paper flowers, a DIY piñata, and mexican blankets. We fashioned DIY paper flower crowns for the guests to wear, including an all white one for the bride to be. We also had her wear an authentic Mexican dress and bust open a real piñata at the end of the shower. It was so much fun.
We served a variety of Mexican foods and desserts including a sopapilla cheesecake that was to die for. We even had authentic Mexican sodas to drink.
In the end this ended up being one of the most fun and unique showers I’ve ever attended. A great option for people who prefer more laid back events over formal, dainty showers”.
