Shabby Chic Tea Party Details:

This is what Anna said about styling the party- “I created this simply shabby afternoon tea party to bless the women in our church. I wanted to give these busy women an afternoon off where they could sit and relax and be served decadent treats from Mama Bear’s Kitchen. I made individual name cookies to serve as place settings inside each pretty tea cup. Cloth napkins, fine china and fragrant soap favours tied with shabby fabric strips completed each setting.

The sweets included white chocolate coated Oreo’s with handmade fondant toppers, white chocolate Tim Tam pops (Tim Tams are delicious chocolate biscuits that are very popular here in Australia.), raspberry Melting Moment cookies, French Breakfast tea cupcakes, vanilla bean cupcakes and a small lolly buffet.

I made a simple backdrop with some old doors and doily buntings. A soft blush pink chiffon table skirt wrapped around the dessert table. There were no big expenses and by using what I already owned, this was a very budget friendly party.

I enjoyed waiting on the ladies, serving them all locally made fresh leaf tea and coffee. It was an intimate gathering of about thirty guests, all of whom appreciated the time to sit and catch up without the distractions of a busy life”.
