Superhero Party Ideas:

This is what Chantelle said about planning and styling the party- “My son is OBSESSED with superheros, so naturally it was his chosen birthday party theme this year. I really had fun collecting items for the sweets table, and because the new Avengers movie came out it was super easy finding so many awesome superhero themed candy and novelty items. I designed a giant (A0) sized ‘Newspaper’ article on Hunter being an new undiscovered superhero to hit the state of WA and included little things like the police commissioner releasing a statement to make it believable.

On the table I had marvel heads that were filled with candy and a prize, but unfortunately they only had the Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America available so couldn’t go too crazy. I was able to get my hands on some Hulk and Iron Man push pops, some DC Comic candy sticks, Superman and Batman chocolate lollipops, and Marvel lollipops. I came across these cool ‘Kryptonite Handbook’ images which I printed off on cards and stapled onto some Pop Rocks and Wizz Fizz.

In front of the sweets table I used just a small cube unit to display some items for guests to take home such as personalized agents of S.H.I.E.L.D badges for each child, ‘Spiderman web’ silly string, Captain America shields which the children could colour in, and Spiderman masks. The cube unit is supposed to be a ‘news stand’ so I included some newspaper articles from the Daily Planet and the Gotham Globe. The children’s table had plastic milk bottles with black and white paper straws and straw flags I labeled with different super powers for each child. At each place setting they were all given blank superhero masks to colour in and decorate. The children’s stools had speech bubbles on each one such as “BAM” and “POW”.

For the drinks we had Hulk PUNCH (mind the pun ;) ) with a foam hulk fist sitting on top of my dispenser which I filled with Lime soda. I handmade the Batman garland that decorated the butler tray. Also, not forgetting the adults, we made some bright green champagne lemon/lime sorbet topped with some purple nerds.

For games I had turned a refrigerator cardboard box into a telephone booth for all the children to transform into superheroes and also made some ‘brick walls’ out of cardboard boxes and red paint for them to ‘Hulk smash’ through. Outside we had a bouncy castle and some villains for the children to use their web shooters to capture! (I forgot how fun silly string is so as soon as i ran out I shamefully, in my wonder woman costume, went and bought 20 cans more) Each child had a cape to wear which I hired from Organised Chaos”.
