Vintage County Fair Carnival 1st Birthday Party Details:This is what Carrie said about the party –
“I’m so excited to share this beautifully designed 1st birthday party with you! My client, Monica Palumbo Hancock went all out putting together an amazing 1st birthday party for her son, Kash! As you will see from the photos, Monica created a vintage carnival in her back yard, complete with a tent, clowns, and ice cream truck! But what really made this party special were all the family and friends! Monica’s details were impeccable – the simple mason jar centerpieces, the chalkboard menus featuring sliders & corn dogs, and the “big top” cake – no detail was left out!
A few words from the hostess:
“Clowns, hay rides (in a wagon) and popcorn, oh my! My son Kash has turned one. I can’t believe it! When my husband and I started brainstorming about a 1st birthday party we thought the idea of a vintage county fair carnival theme sounded neat. More of an excuse for us adults to have sliders, corn dogs, and cotton candy. Right?!
I personally have been a flea market collector for years and I was able to put a lot of my items to use at his party. A Hungarian baby bath served as a drink bucket, a vintage shoe drying rack held his toys (given to Toys for Tots) and old wooden boxes were placed throughout the party. I even found a few items at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Auto Fair. While I was working, my mind was in party planning mode.
Our one and only son was turning one. Rick, my husband, kept saying, “You only turn one, once.” I was urging us to order pizza, throw on a party hat and call it a day. But after a lot of influencing, he threw out the perfect pitch and I swung. He was right, our son will only turn one, ONCE! So I dove in. I took this birthday party on and wanted it to be perfect. Not because Kash wanted it to be perfect, he would never even know, but perfect for us. And by perfect, I mean a celebration! It was a labor of love. This birthday party meant the world to me. It meant not only that our son was turning one, but it meant that we also survived the first year of parenthood. I wanted it to be fun and interactive with good, happy vibes. Life is a reason to celebrate! Ok, so next year we may go with the pizza order.”
