Little Mermaid Party Details:This is what Lisa said about designing/styling the party-
“I picked the Little Mermaid theme for our birthday girl because she was obsessed with the movie and being in the water … her birthday is the end of June so it was perfect! We didn’t go the traditional route of the Little Mermaid but stuck with the colors and it couldn’t have turned out more perfect! Throwing birthday parties is my favorite and even more so for my little girl but celebrating shouldn’t cost a fortune so we gathered a few things from our house to make her party a success.
I made candy kabobs which is also everyone’s party favor for coming! I painted a 2×4 to match our color theme of the Little Mermaid and drilled holes for each stick of yummy candy. These kabobs are so simple to make and were a huge hit with everyone even the birthday girl. Grab your favorite candy in colors that match your party and shove them on a stick and call it fun! I ordered her cake and cupcakes from a local grocery store and added a few details of my own. For her cupcakes I added gumballs you can get at Target, cut paper straws and added them to each cupcake. For her cake I grabbed some fish tank/aquarium plants and spray painted them to match the theme and added them to the cake. Simple yet perfect! I had a couple pieces of coral used at our wedding reception and those both got spray painted to match and now it’s a fun reminder of our wedding and her little birthday! I bought mason jars with fun lids and use them every birthday, mixed lemonade with a few dr ops of food coloring and you have drinks that look like the blue ocean with paper straws that pull it all together! Throw some plastic utensils in mason jars for simplicity which is perfect for your toddler’s party! Every princess needs a castle and a bouncy house was a huge hit that is perfect to keep the little party guests busy and those fun Aunts and Uncles! I bought a giant hole punch at our craft store and sewed them together to make streamers and added them to the balloons, it just makes everything fun! Happy party planning!”
