British Style Royal Prince Party

I loved the simplicity of the details in this fab party. My favorite part is the head shots of the guest of honor with crowns affixed to each. What a great way to incorporate the birthday boy into the decor!

British Style Royal Prince Party Details:This is what Rachel said about planning/styling the party-

“When it came time to plan a second birthday for my son, Keaton, there was really only one theme that made sense–a Royal Prince Party! He was born the same day as Prince George, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to channel my inner Anglophile by flying some Union Jack flags and adorning everything with gold crowns.

We held the party at the local indoor soccer stadium–because letting kids play outside in July in Texas is just a bad idea. It ended up being the perfect venue, the kids had a blast running around on the field while the parents were able to chat and snack. We filled the field with beach balls, hula hoops, a bounce house and a cornhole set (for the dads, of course!)

I tried to keep the foods as British and kid-friendly as possible. We served lots of different tea sandwiches–we had PBJ for the kids, smashed chickpea with avocado and pesto, lemony cucumber and cream cheese, and strawberry chicken salad sandwiches for everyone else. I thought my spin on “fish and chips” was clever… goldfish mixed with chips! I couldn’t resist draping strips of fabric across the table cloths to resemble the Union jack flags–I think they were such a fun touch.

The sweets were all absolutely stunning–I was amazed by the details on everything! The cake was exactly what I hoped for–the fondant flag and crown were so lovely and made the perfect centerpiece for the dessert table. The sugar cookies were all incredible as well, I loved the sweet double decker busses and the Underground symbol! And the fancy cupcake toppers helped the grocery store cupcakes be fit for a Prince!

For the kids who weren’t interested in running around the field, we had coloring pages and crowns to decorate. The adults even got into the crown decorating! The darling ribbon wands were a huge hit– they kids loved running wild with them.

I think my favorite detail were the little Keaton heads with crowns on them. It was a surprisingly quick and easy project that made a huge impact. They looked so sweet set up on the little table at the entrance with an assortment of items matching the theme. Red suitcases, a little marquee K, the slightly overused “Keep Calm” sign… and other favorites from the party. The sweet crown and ribbon wand obviously needed a place of honor!”
