Nutcracker Party Details:
This is what Ycoy said about planning/styling the party “The theme for this party was a no brainer. Why not make a magical season even more joyful right? Christmas has always been our familys favorite time of the year not only because during this time, our precious son was born but also because we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ who has been the center of our family. We wanted it to be festive, fun and totally relatable. The Nutcracker theme was oh-so-perfect. I concocted a special color palette to make the elements clean, and very wintery.
Couldnt think of any other venue that is more perfect than Aruga Hotel by Rockwell. It is nestled into the heart of the city right across the mall and between Edades Tower and Aruga Hotel. The elegant interior fits well with the theme that I conceptualized. Big thanks to my sister-in-law Monicah for arranging everything.
How fun is this invitation suite? Its the perfect representation of the Nutcracker theme + the perfect color scheme: pristine white, serenity, mint, cotton candy and metallics injected in small doses throughout. For the ballerina and nutcracker elements, I commissioned Feliza Homillo to do the graphics. The design was made by Ciara Romero of La Fille de Papier. The suite consists of two pages – one is the main invite while the perforated RSVP card could be used as a Christmas ornament. The invites were printed by April Gascon of Create Paper Crafts. The suite is carefully packed in white boxes filled with wood trimmings. Each box is filled with crystal Christmas tree ornament; adorned with snowflake sticker and lastly wrapped around with gold ribbons. I used gold ink to handwrite the tags.
Even the littlest hint of sparkle never fails to get us in the Christmas spirit around here, and for this party were filled to the brim with it in the form of festive tablescape. I wanted a clean, immaculate look. My vision was the childlike feel would not be lost but I wanted things to be pristine and original. The pop of colors would be essential not just for the sake of. I opted for crystal chairs, golden wooden plates, and silver Christmas tree folded napkins. For the VIP table, I thought of having Christmas tree popcorns with names in calligraphy. Each guest table is adorned with white, silver and gold miniature pine trees, with gifts of the same palette, and a colorful Nutcracker to finish the look. I would like to pause for a moment and give a round of applause for the magical hands of Julius Villamante of Amante Fleurs who can execute all my ideas as if he can read my mind.
The backdrop depicts the Stahlbaums clock in the Nutcracker story. With the hands pointing to 3PM, the time of Liams party. The two nutcrackers created a perfect balance of hues and the shelves were used to keep the loot bags and prizes. For the stations, I came up with 5 areas – 1.) Herr Drosselmeir’s Wishing Station which is the kids wishing station. We asked each kid kids to write their Christmas wish list here. (actually we will use this as our guide in giving gifts to them this Christmas); 2.) Frozen Snowflakes – Merry Moo ice cream station; 3.) Land of Sweets – dessert bar with each dessert depicting the characters in the Nutcracker story; the Sugar 4.) Plum Fairy Floss – lemonade station with cotton candy topping ; and 5.) The Mouse King’s Lair – face painting station. Each station has signages with the calligraphy of Joanna Villacruz. Joanna also made the scrolls of the Harlequin by the entrance of the hall. The photobooths idea i s the room of the Stahlbaum family.
The Land of Sweets is inspired by the Act Two of the Nutcracker. Baked by Catalina provided the awesome 2-feet Nutcracker cake. Regines provided the cute and yummy desserts. While Cottontail provided the main cake depicting the story of the Nutcracker.
For the small details, the crafts team of La Belle Fete created each one of them. We handed snow flakes and paper mache mouse masks to guests. While the kids were given party hats that resembled Christmas trees. The Nutcracker loot bags were filled with delicious and amazing treats like Lego, chocolates and candies. The star of the show: the 4-feet tall piñata filled with goodies.
Of course, we also took time to prep for our costumes. Make Believe Productions provided the wonderful entertainment which was enjoyed by both kids and kids at heart.
One of the perks of being an event planner is that I know *lots* of super talented friends. This memorable occasion is because of the hard work and love by these personal favorite suppliers of mine who btw are not just suppliers but friends who are very close to our hearts”.
