Magical Mermaid Party Details:
This is what Rachel said about planning and styling the party- “Our daughter’s 5th birthday party was a magical event. She had been asking for a mermaid party for a very long time and I was more than happy to oblige! I wanted the party guests to come inside our home and feel as if they were frolicking under the sea with ocean creatures and mermaids.
The house was decorated with jellyfish, seashells, and fishing nets in colors of mint, coral, and gold. As the guests arrived, they each got to pick out a handmade party hat and vintage-inspired mermaid goodie bag. We played several games, and after each game, the child won a prize to put inside their goodie bag.
One of the games was especially a big hit ….mermaid racing! Each child colored and decorated a mermaid tail. I then had each child put both feet into a large sock and attach the fin to their feet. The kids then had to hop across the floor like mermaids out of water. It was hilarious and the kids had a blast.
We completely surprised our daughter with a REAL mermaid! Ariel was amazing with the kids. She sang, told stories, and had the kids do some silly sea creature dancing. She made the birthday girl feel extremely special by having a coronation ceremony and presenting her with a lovely crown.
The children dined on beautiful seashell, mermaid, and seahorse sugar cookies as well as candy sushi, and chocolate dipped Oreos embellished with chocolate seashells. Yes, the parents loved me for sending their children home with an enormous sugar high.
The party ended with 12 little mermaids devouring seashell birthday cake and giggling about their underwater adventures.”
