Astronaut + Rocket Ship Birthday Party Details:
This is what Mae said about planning/styling the party- I started planning my sons first birthday party way in advance, 5months before this party, I already booked everything just to make sure I got the best suppliers for our son Andre Joaquin. He is our first child and he’s the first grandchild for both sides of our family. :)
I want to share the cake and the cupcakes, cake pops I made for Joaquin. I filed a leave from my work just bake and it took me 1 week to finish the cake and the sweets. I’ve been baking cakes for other people and I wanted to make sure that when he grows up and see the pictures of his 1st birthday, he’ll be happy.
I created a huge rocket ship cake and used the firework candles upside down just to copy a rocket ship launch. The cake was almost 7 feet including the stand just to be sure the floor wont get burned with the candle. The kids were so happy to see the rocket ship launch.
Pinterest helped me a lot in designing the cake and the sweets.
During the day of the celebration, there was a typhoon but we’re lucky! In spite of the typhoon last Oct 18, 2015, our visitors still celebrated Joaquin’s FIRST birthday with us. They came all the way from the province (8 hr. drive) and even from Singapore just to show their love for our baby boy.

So, this party was a hit, and I can only imagine the kids reaction when the candles were lit on the rocket ship cake (maybe you might catch that first hand in the video…you never know). If you’ve still got your space suit on and you’ve got no where to go, check out these parties:
