Colorful First Birthday Fiesta Details
This is what Britney said about planning the party- “I decided to throw my daughter a fiesta themed first birthday party in honor of one of our favorite cuisines..Mexican! We held the party at a local pizza place called Dozzino’s but instead of cooking pizzas they made juicy tacos for everybody courtesy of their sister restaurant called Taco-Escque.
I had a local artist paint a huge taco truck labeled “Penelope’s Taqueria” with a “menu” of fun filled facts from my daughters first year! This made for a great entry piece +photo/ Instagram backdrop.
My good friend over at Jennifer Choi Desserts made all of the cute edibles on the dessert table: hand painted macarons, cupcakes with succulents on top, fresh fruit, banana cream pie in a jar, a smash cake with a fondant taco on top and a beautiful fiesta themed cake with a topper that said ” Penelope’s first fiesta”
I bought plastic vases from party city, filled them with yellow gum balls ( also from party city) and placed succulents on top.
Grandma bought tomato cans from Costco in bulk and I filled them with bright monochromatic garden roses.
Also, from party city red drink buckets ( restaurant was A BYO so we brought our own Mexican beers + wines), mustache straws, Mexican coke blankets and Mexican table runners.
For the goody bags I purchased mini red pails from Party city and filled them with maracas, bubbles, a water bottle (all from PC) and a personalized cactus cookie made by JCD.
Fiesta napkins purchased from Etsy, Penelope’s outfit purchased from baby gap and Ultra Violet Kids, My daughter is super into music so we had her music teacher Adam Roberts of Ardvark Music perform for the kids.
I’ve planned many events before but this one was by far my favorite! I’m already looking forward to her 2nd birthday!”
Wasn’t this the cutest 1st birthday celebration? Maybe you’d like to see a few other themes? Why don’t you check these out?
