Vintage Bicycle + Tricycle Themed 1st Birthday Party Details:

This is what Johann shared about styling the party- “I’ve always loved a vintage theme for our family’s party. For me and my hubby’s wedding — we did a rustic/vintage theme, for my eldest’s first birthday — a 50’s ice cream retro theme, and when i was initially planning for my youngest son’s birthday, I was drawn into the vintage radio flyer tricycle, which i bought secondhand in Singapore, and that’s what we chose.

We were staying in Singapore because of my husband’s work (we originally reside in the Philippines) and we had a limited budget and the fact that we don’t know a lot of people there except our fellow Filipino friends, so we opted to look for a venue that is small and would fit our theme and our closest friends. Luckily, we found Wheeler’s Yard near where we were staying and I absolutely fell in love with the place! It is a bicycle shop with coffee, cakes, food and it had that industrial feel interiors i was looking for. :)

For the decors and giveaways, I did everything handmade – the invitations, the small after-coffee mint boxes (tricycle cutouts), the lighted “D” marquee and even the cake stand out of cardboard (and an ice cream tub), the party hats and our giveaways to guests (a DIY paint kit I did using air dry clay and paint pots I filled with acrylic paint). The food were ordered from Wheeler’s yard but we also ordered cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes and decorated it with a mini-tricycle I bought from Etsy.
