Construction Birthday Party
Construction Party Details:
This is what Melanie shared about the party-
Party description:
“I love planning parties and baking sweet treats so I was over the moon excited to start planning my son’s first birthday party! I wanted the party to incorporate his interests and to have a fun theme! My son, Henry, has always been crazy about trucks and tractors. One of the first sounds he learned how to make as a baby was “vroooom” as he steered his toys around the house. His dad and I decided that we should have a construction themed birthday with lots of tractors and Tonka trucks!
Main event:
My first step was ordering customizable invitations, cupcake toppers, buffet tags and a banner from One Swell Studio. They worked out so perfectly! We rented the cookhouse at a local campground (Willey West Campground). It had a big playground, a field for games, a volley ball net and walking trai ls near the river so guests would have lots of fun stuff to do! My mom, Rhonda, and I baked and decorated the cake, as well as chocolate zucchini, lemon, and banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!
I purchased a mini Tonka truck to dump out crushed up chocolate bars down the side of the cake. Since the birthday boy’s name is Henry and the colour scheme included yellow, I couldn’t resist filling up a toy dump truck with Oh Henry chocolate bars! We found yellow utensils, paper straws, cups, tablecloths, candy containers, black and yellow rock candy, chocolate gold coins and serving platters from Party City. We purchased pylons, construction vests & signs from Gregg Distributors. I wanted photos of all of our guests so we had them dress up in construction gear for the photos! We made centrepieces for the picnic tables out of a pylon and some yellow, black and grey balloons from Valley House Of Flowers.
Favors:
I made party favours for the kids with Reese’s Pieces and a mini Tonka truck or tractor. Lastly, Henry wore some tan overalls from Carter’s to complete the look! We all had such a wonderful day and Henry was all smiles! We were so thankful that all of our loved ones took the time to join us and make his first birthday so special!”
