Girly Pirate Birthday Party

Girly Pirate Party Details:

This is what Natalie shared about the party- “We were away on holiday when we learned of our daughter Parker’s love of pirates.  She put on this brilliant pirate voice scrunching up her mouth and closing her eye, telling us “Aye’ Me Hearties, let’s hunt for treasure”….and more cute dialogue.

After that she was set on having a pirate party complete with a plank to walk and a treasure hunt.  If you have looked at previous parties I’ve done for my daughter you’ll know I love taking a masculine theme she has fallen in love with and giving it some feminine flair.  The bling and colors she loves.  The pirate party was no exception.

Pirate Color Palette

Working with the lovely Jen of Jen T by Design we came up with the perfect color palette that reflected the ocean with a pop of yellow.  She then found the most gorgeous pirate girl that looked like my daughter to incorporate into the design, even including my daughters “star baggy”, her night time comforter in her hand.  Talented dessert artists, Roni, Paola and Sarah then took this pirate girl and used her in elements of their design.  From cookies, cake to cake pops…Parker loved it and couldn’t wait to show her friends.

The pop of yellow was used to incorporate the octopus, including a fab chandelier and spray painted octopus candle sticks I found at hobby lobby.  

I included as much treasure as I could, girls love gems! From the table treasure chests of pearls to the gems included on display and in the pirates loot (favors).

Pirate Entertainment

The entertainment of the party was all inspired by Parker’s favorite place to visit.  It’s a store and outdoor craft venue about an hour from our house in half moon bay called Oddyysea.   I created stations similar to those she enjoys when we visit there.   The kids did a variety of activities from sand art, make a driftwood boat, message in a bottle to metal stamped necklaces.  They also had fun in the squid ink tattoo station and face painting station before walking the plank….arghhh! 

Sword battles and cake ensued! And many a jolly a pirate departed loaded up with loot.”
