First Birthday Flamingle Flamingo
First Birthday Flamingle Flamingo Details:
This is what Lindsay shared about the party- “For Daniella’s first birthday, her parents wanted a fun, festive theme that best represented her summer (June) birthday. We decided to do an elegant, understated flamingle theme. With the focus on lots of fresh flowers and rustic accents, so that the flamingo’s could really pop and stand out without it being over the top.
The venue was perfect: Casa Adobe Park in Glendale, California. As soon as we saw the fireplace we fell in love! We knew it needed to be the central focal point of the party. I created a color scheme for an organic balloon swag/arch and incorporated the fresh florals I picked up for the table decor at the Flower Mart in downtown Los Angeles to give the balloon arch a cohesive look with the party.
For the dessert table, I decided to use my wine barrels in keeping with the look of the party.
I hand made the 2 “Welcome to Daniella’s 1st birthday party” with my cricut to place at both entrances to the park. Also, I used crackle spray paint to give the wood an aged look.
I opted to bring in my lemonade stand and vintage farm stand as statement pieces and decorated them with fresh flowers, spray painted gold pineapples, and other decor I picked up for the party.
The favors were displayed on a vintage farm stand. They included: flamingo fluff (cotton candy), flamingo coin purses for the little girls, and hand stamped flamingo muslin bags filled with candy.
Table Decor and Delicious Desserts
The table decor was understated. We opted for a neutral cream/ivory linen, with fresh tropical leaves for runners and floral arrangements in mason jars I made the morning of the party. I also added gold spray painted pineapples for a little pop, which tied in the gold chargers and neutral paper plates.
The desserts were made by Cake Goodness of Santa Clarita, California and she really did a fabulous job. The flamingo cake was just fantastic, and they actually tasted better than they looked. Desserts included rice crispy treats, flamingo cake pops, cookies and the flamingo cake.
Games and More
I made a flamingo ring toss game and sign, for entertainment for the kiddos, and we included hula hoops and bubbles which are always a hit.
All in all the party was fantastic and a hit. Everything came together nicely.”
