Farmers’ Market Baby Shower
Farmers’ Market Baby Shower Details:
This is what Lesley shared about the party- “Welcoming a new baby to the family is such a joy and that’s why I jumped at the chance to host a baby shower for my sister-in-law this summer. She has always been a wonderful, supportive auntie to our kids, so it was my pleasure to plan this special day for her. The shower was hosted in my in-laws backyard and was the perfect setting for a dinner party style baby shower.
The invitations I designed were printed on luxurious card stock and set the tone for my vision of an elegant Farmers Market party. These were mailed out in kraft brown envelopes, purchased from our local craft supply store.
Shower Colors and Place Settings
The shower was an intimate dinner party for 18 guests, all close friends to the new mom. The colors were cream and soft blue, inspired by baby Barrett’s nursery decor. Farmhouse tables from Woodpecker Tables were decorated with burlap runners, flowers and candles. Each place setting included a baby shower favor, which was a berry basket filled with homemade banana bread, local honey and lavender clippings. I printed name cards with each guests’ name to make the table feel extra special.
The beautiful flowers were designed by a local flower shop, which I just adore. They gave the table the perfect amount of whimsy and playfulness. Thank you Art Knapps Port Coquitlam!
Dessert Table and Furniture
The Farmers Market theme continued to the dessert table that included homemade cookies, macarons that look like fresh eggs and mini pies for each guest. How sweet does the dessert table look? Can you believe I found this table for free on the side of the road? A cupcake topper by Sprig West was the perfect touch for our desserts.
The furniture rentals were from Whitetail Collections, who helped me choose pieces that would give the shower style and function. We chose the Alton armchair for the new mom to open gifts, as well as the Ellwood table for the guest book. Several other farmhouse pieces were used for styling the various tables.
Guests were asked to sign the new mom’s Mushybook, which was used as a guest book. Blank extra pages are perfect for writing encouraging messages and congratulations. The pages can be added to the baby book and will serve as a special keepsake of this celebration.
The man of honor looked adorable in his newborn size ‘Support Your Local Farmer’ onesie from Magnolia Roots co. Barrett, you are the cutest thing ever”.
