Tuscan Inspired Lemon Baby Shower
Tuscan Inspired Lemon Baby Shower Details:
This is what Lauren shared about the event- “When we first met with Jackie and asked her what she envisioned for her shower she said, “something that is natural and outdoorsy but still elegant.” Jackie and her husband Matt share their time between NYC and their country cabin upstate New York. They love the luxury of the city with the water views and the natural tranquility that the country has to offer. Jackie wanted a shower that was laid back where guests could chat, eat delicious food and truly enjoy themselves.
Most often baby showers are gender themed. Although Jackie was having a boy, she was not being pulled towards the classic blue color palette. She instead opted for a green and white shower with accents of yellow. Giving a nod to her husband’s Italian heritage we planned a Tuscan themed baby shower that was filled to the brim with greenery and lemons. The shower was simple and yet classically styled. Since flowers are feminine and romantic, replacing them with greenery allowed us to dress up the space without creating a feminine feel.
Location and view were the key inspirations for Jackie’s shower location. Jackie wanted to be on the water but with the heat of summer we needed a location that gave us the feeling of summer without the heat! Xavier’s X2O on the Hudson was the ideal backdrop. With floor to ceiling windows, a view of the George Washington Bridge and a menu that any foodie couldn’t resist we knew it was the perfect spot.
Paper goods are all custom hand drawn and painted by Stephanie of Stephanie Tara Stationery. Stephanie used delicate greens, lemons and a touch of gold to accent the Tuscan theme. All of the hand drawn signage added a little whimsey to the day!
Jackie has a big sweet tooth and what better way to fix that craving than with a dessert bar. The dessert bar featured mini doughnuts from Doughnuttery, a three-tier naked drip cake from Lovely Cakes and Tahitian vanilla milkshakes and pecan diamond cookies from X2O. The table was styled with hanging garland and white carnations to create a light and airy feeling and was anchored with two large balloons.
DIY FLOWER CROWN STATION
Opening gifts in front of guests is not always the guest of honor’s cup of tea. With a new twist on baby shower games and a way for guests to further enjoy themselves. We decided a DIY floral crown bar was just what this shower needed. The floral crown bar gave guests the chance to create, mingle and enjoy their new craft. The DIY flower crown bar was also surprisingly easy! Dramatic Innovations provided simple wreath headbands and we helped guide the guests as they wove their greenery into crowns.
Champagne, fresh fruit and assorted juices is all you need for a mimosa bar. Each guest garnished their drink to their own taste and toasted to the mama to be.
In lieu of cards, guests provided books to fill baby Marricco’s nursery and library. With handwritten notes and well wishes to the baby. Everyone enjoyed stocking the nursery bookshelves.
To bring the outdoors in, floral designer Dan Rowland of Dramatic Innovation created a 7’ tall mixed greenery wall, which was the perfect backdrop for guest photos. Alhy Berry of Alhy Berry Photography was onsite capturing portraits of the mama to be with all of her friends and family who came out to celebrate. Jackie and her best friend, are due just weeks apart. Alhy was able to capture both mamas and their adorable bumps!

As planners we live for details. When we have a client that loves details just as much as we do our creativity flows. Inventiveness and thoughtful touches are what pulled this party together. Baby Marricco sure is lucky to have such a fun loving family to be born into”.
