“My son always gives me really specific, totally offbeat birthday party themes to figure out! This year, the new obsession is Michael Jackson! Quite a toughie to put together! I ended up designing and printing and hand cutting everything as there’s literally nothing available online… the only thing I found was the MJ toppers that I used on the giant white marshmallows. We had a dance party, artisanal ice cream, a burger ‘bar’ with 3 kinds of burgers, loads of candy & personalised gifts for the kids… Annette ice creams were a huge hit, with the kids and parents too! BERGS does a great job with the live burger bar, making customised burgers for everyone…we had chicken, beef and veggie options… Mrs D Bakes made an exact replica (possibly better!) of the cake design we sent her. A special surprise on the inside – Rainbow cake! DIY cheese and fruit platters, not a patch on what I had in mind, but the best I could do… One whole year to recover from this! Whewww!”
