Moroccan Genie Birthday Party
This is what Rose shared about the party- “It’s a Genies Divine celebration! This party was inspired by my daughter’s favorite genie twins. She had planned this party about a year in advanced and there was no turning back! I absolutely love Moroccan inspired parties, but was doubtful that we could pull it off since it involves so many details and fabric installations. I recruited the help of party extraordinaire and friend Nancy from Nancy’s Creations to help me with the styling and décor, and WOW! She did an awesome job! We had all the bright colors, sequin, shiny gold, gems, and genie bottles. Everything came out amazing! I wanted to use a lot of real décor items vs paper or typical party décor. I already had all cake stands and serving platters, but you can find them at Home Goods as well as the bottles and candleholders. I thought the piñata added the perfect texture and gold color needed without taking over the backdrop. I absolutely loved the sequin fuchsia table cover. It was so glam and Moroccan. Since it was so long, we covered boxes in one corner as a base for additional décor. I borrowed the pillows, but if I hadn’t, I would’ve bought them because in a Moroccan party you need pillows on the floor, even if you don’t sit on them.
The beautiful and delicious sugar cookies were made by the talented Lynette owner of Cutie Pie Cookies. She was a doll to send me these gorgeous Shimmer and Shine inspired cookies. I made the rest of the treats, chocolate-covered pretzels and Oreos, as well as the cake and cupcakes. I made sure to include lots of glitter and crystal sugar on them. The Oreo and cupcake gem toppers are made of chocolate. The cake was a funfetti vanilla buttercream cake and the castle façade is made of fondant.
The guests table had a simple party shop vinyl tablecloth with a fabric runner for a turquoise touch. Also I loved how the genie lamps and tambourines gave the table the touches of gold and fuchsia that it needed.
Let me also mention this super cute play area that just opened up near my house, Awesome Blossom. I was so thankful to have an indoor option for my daughter’s party, we basically only have park gazebos around here! Elizabeth, the owner was amazing helping us set up and take down. Nancy made the super cute balloon garland to decorate the room.
What’s great about this theme is that it can be used for any kind of celebration! Anniversaries, bridal shower, adult or kid birthday parties. I hope to have inspired you to create your own genie Moroccan version. Until next time!”
