A Purrfect Pawty Kitty Cat Birthday Party
Jessica’s Party Description-
“Get Your Cat Face On”
Upon entering the party, all of the kiddos got whiskers painted on, their choice of a “hat for a cat” (i.e. kitty ears), and a mask to decorate.
Meowsk Making Station
We had a station set up where kids could craft their own unique cat masks by picking a nose (various colored poms), whiskers (pipe cleaners), and ears (triangle-shaped foam cutouts) of their choice.
Our little kitties got to nosh on mice created out of cheese, almonds, and peppercorn. We also had real (unused, of course) cat bowls and trays throughout our dessert table, including some handmade hairballs made of peanut butter and coconut. We topped the hairballs and some macarons with cardstock cutouts resembling real cats in hilarious positions. Our dessert table also featured a yarn ball bouquet we made using yarn wrapped around Styrofoam balls.
Our client requested real cats. If she wanted a real snake, camel, elephant, or almost any other creature – it would have been a much easier task. Thankfully, the Dallas branch of The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue literally came to the rescue. They showed up with 7 adoptable kitties and cats that the kiddos got to cuddle and get to know. Some very memorable meows, indeed. When the kids broke away from oohing and awwing over the cats, we held a relay race where they had to push a ball of yarn across the floor with their chins. So many giggles.”
