Floral Bloom Party Details:

This is what Ronelia said about planning/styling the party-

“We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday on a warm March day here in Perth, Australia. The sun was shining and spirits we’re high.
The theme was “Bloom” or “Blooming” because my word of the year is Bloom. Plus, I became obsessed with bright florals.

It all started with the invitations –

bright watercolour flowers cascading down the page. This gorgeous floral pattern was repeated throughout the party – on the drink bottles, the welcome sign and the thank you gift bags.
Once I chose my invitation I selected three colours that really stood out to me – being the light baby pink, the hot pink and the forrest green.. and the rest was history. This colour scheme carried me thought the entire party planning process.

Get Grazing

I knew I wanted a gorgeous grazing table decorated with lots of flowers and greenery and I was so lucky to find the perfect little business that did exactly what I was looking for – Pipers Platters. The grazing table was a standout of the day, filled with delicious fruits, cold meats and a crossiant station!

Sugary Goodness

I decided to decorate the dessert table myself but I outsourced a lot of the sugary goodness.
We had custom donuts, cookies, chocolate bars and lollipops, all designed with the theme of pretty florals in mind. The main attraction was the cake which was a standout to me! I knew I wanted hand painted buttercream florals and our cake maker did not disappoint. The flowers were so delicately painted – I loved them!

Cake Topper

One of my favourite thing of the entire day was our custom clay cake topper. I found a small business on Etsy who makes the most amazing custom cake toppers. I showed her pictures of my daughter, the dress that she will be wearing and even the shoes! She made a little mini me of my daughter sitting in a bed of flowers and the likeness is uncanny!

Of course it wouldn’t be a first birthday party without some acrylic cake toppers as well! We had two – one that said Emella which accompanied the clay topper, and another that said “One” which was placed on the smaller smash cake, lovingly made by a friend of ours.
The cake stand was also amazing! Pink and crystals made by Amalfi.

Pearls!

Tying the colour scheme together were our bright pearl balloons! The wind almost swept them away but thankfully it died down just as the party was starting.
I also wanted to include a drinks table, with some elderberry and cranberry punch. So, I fussycut and taped matching bottle labels with an assortment of jokes relating to having a baby or a toddler. This was a guest favourite, everyone laughed at the (sometimes terrible) jokes on the bottles!

Party DIY

Also included were a number of DIY elements that gave the party that personal touch.
I handmade a highchair garland out of strips of glittery, Lacey and pink fabrics.
Additionally, I created a cascading floral backdrop by tying about 100 fake flowers to string: and attaching them to a large branch which hung down the back of the dessert table. I loved that it looked as if the flowers are floating.
Lots of photos of my baby girl were a must! These included a large canvas, her monthly photos and also some black and white photos strung up on a decorative ladder.

Plus Coffee!

The guests were also served coffee from a coffee van and then babies got to play in a ball pit – which was a last minute saving grace! The ball pit I had planned to use was faulty so we created a ball pit out of an unused fish pond and a bedspread – the babies loved it!!”
