Hip Hop Easter Dance Party Play Date
This is what Emma shared about the party- “It’s Easter time… which around here means time to party! This year’s theme, Hip Hop Dance Party. Pastels with pops of vibrant colors brought our party to life, along with the confetti and the energy from our little guests. They were ready to dance! We pulled out some super trendy clothes and bunny ears, cranked up kid friendly hip hop on pandora and let the sugar in our pretty treats do the rest. Our “Dance Like No Bunny is Watching” print on the wall gave the girls a little giggle.
Bunny Bum Cupcakes
Speaking of treats…we decided to keep it somewhat simple with bunny bum cupcakes (which the girls thought was hilarious) in lemon and strawberry cream. Also, raspberry macarons shaped like bunnies, chocolate covered pretzels made to look like carrots, and white chocolate covered peeps with bunny sprinkles.
Our chocolate cake was frosted in pink and then surrounded by edible pink, green and blue sugar grass. The girls loved how fun and funky it looked. We found some fun cassette tape paper to cover the table with and added in carrot napkins and custom bunny water bottles. We printed some bunny ears and attached them to the top of the bottle neck. Then we attached a little pom-pom as the tail. We stuck with water as our beverage since we knew the girls would need some real refreshment after all of their jumping and dancing on our dance floor.
Dance Floor Galore
In order to give them the feel of an actual dance area, we used decorative/easily removable tape to create a large rectangle on the floor. We filled it with confetti, real flowers, balloons, pom poms and fuzzy chicks. Each girl was given her own cup of confetti to throw in the air.
Our other activity tables included a candy necklace making and a nail painting station. We used Nailmatic polish which is water soluble and super safe for kiddos. The fan favorite was orange polish with a sparkling layer over top. A party is never complete without a book! Our story time paired perfectly with our theme featuring Every Bunny Dance by Ellie Sandall. The illustrations are great and the story is beyond cute.
The girls were a great help in cleaning up the confetti mess! Gotta love how much 6-year-olds love to clean and dance at the same time!!!! Party’s over, but now we’re ready to hip hop toward Easter!”
