Love You to the Moon Baby Shower
This is what Priscilla shared about planning/styling the party:
“When I first learned that my dear friend’s baby was to be named Nova, I knew we needed to have a space themed baby shower, but in an elegant, soft, feminine way. Of course, as soon as I thought of the theme “Love You To The Moon & Back” I knew it would be perfect.
I chose to design the baby shower around soft blues and periwinkle with touches of gold, along with the soft wild look of eucalyptus and white chrysanthemums. Since I love to DIY, I put together floral arrangements, designed signs and a backdrop to match the theme, and created little temporary moon tattoos as guest favors, which were a complete hit!
I also put together marquee letters, bought from hobby lobby, with some scrapbook paper that went perfectly with the theme. I first spray-painted them gold then cut out the scrapbook paper to stick onto the letters.
To create the wish book for the baby, I hand-painted “Dear Nova” on the cover and brushed some gold paint on it to tie in with the theme. Every detail was carefully thought out to make sure it all resonated with the colors and the theme, and it all came together beautifully!
The cake was the highlight of the party, even though it was a last minute find at Whole Foods when the cake we wanted originally wasn’t available anymore. We got lucky that the cake matched the theme perfectly! I also added fruit and leaves to tie the whole dessert table together. The crowing element was the cutest moon cake topper from Amazon.
I enjoyed being able to design and photograph the shower, which made it all the more special to my friends. It was truly a delicate little baby shower perfect for the family. And they were of course over the moon about it.”
