Peter Rabbit & Friends Secret Garden Party
This is what Michelle shared about the party:
“We hosted 15 children aged between 18 months – 5 years old at a secret garden party with Peter Rabbit And His Friends. For the venue, we chose the beautiful walled orchard of Findon Place, West Sussex.
For the decor, we kept everything very vintage but still colorful. There were old books and gardening items as well as bright candles, candlesticks and coloured glass bottles on the table. Hand-illustrated invitations sat at each place setting, in addition to hand-written quotes from the books spread throughout the tablescape. There were also vintage watering cans filled with colourful blooms, and real moss running the length of the table. Finally, there were lanterns strung overhead.
We had so much fun creating ‘Mr. McGregor’s Garden’ using a vintage ladder and lots of veggies.
The children played old fashioned games such as the Bunny Hop (sack race) and Catch A Carrot (hoopla). They ate carrot and toadstool biscuits, chocolate seedling cakes and tomato macarons. There were also tea sandwiches, hummus and of course veggies, lots of veggies!
The children loved the separate areas with different items to explore and more importantly eat. Plus, the old fashioned English games, such as welly wanging, went down a treat. It was the perfect way to end the summer holidays in what has been a very strange year indeed. ”
