Tropical Flamingo Party
This is what Emma shared about the party:
Inspiration & Theme
“Oh happy day! Welcome to Jessica’s dedication day! We wanted to celebrate Jessica being dedicated with a fabulously fun and colourful celebration. Like a flamingo, we wanted Jessica’s party stand out from the crowd. I love the style for most christenings and baptisms, however on this occasion I wanted to do something a little more edgy. We also wanted Jessica’s first party to represent all her best qualities. Little Jessica is sociable, spirited and warm. Thus, we decided a tropical pink flamingo theme would be perfect!
Our color inspirations were pink and coral, bright and bold. We decided to involve pink flamingos, palm trees, hibiscus, tropical drinks and desserts! The celebration was fabulously fun, hitting so many party trends.
I was absolutely delighted to gather the best-of-the-best in the party industry to help create this stylish party. This was my first collaboration and I loved meeting new people, and getting to know some of my old favourites a bit better too! Creating a party on your own is okay, but working together can be such a wonderful experience.
Set-Up & Decor
Simone, from The Social Vue, is an incredibly talented designer who took my tropical vision and brought it to life. Simone created some magnificent signs, a gorgeous double-sided invitation, food labels, menus and bottle labels. I love how she incorporated pink flamingos, pineapple, tropical flowers and foliage into her designs.
The little ones had so much fun jumping into Perth Toy Hire‘s popular hexagonal ball pit, filled to the brim with approximately 2000 blue and clear balls! The swimming pool ball pit topped with a bright pink flamingo saying ‘aloha’ really set the scene.
Another highlight was definitely the incredible balloon installation from oh la la balloon bar. Chey used a mix of coral, pink, and gold balloons, with a sprinkling of foliage to really hit that tropical vibe. I loved the burst of colour and sense of fun it brought to the party!
Finally, Sweet Encounter Events Hire‘s white peacock style cane chair with faux fur pillow brought tropical fun and a touch of boho chic to the event. Like a flamingo, it stood tall from the crowd. It was a statement piece that immediately added an island paradise feel to the party.
We set a gorgeous table for the little ones to enjoy all the tropical fun! I always start with plates, and am in love with Shelley’s round ‘oh happy day’ range. I teamed a neon coral plate with a blush topper. Plus, a neon coral cup topped with a gold straw. I also couldn’t resist the eco-friendly tropical wooden cutlery.
The tropical party printables carried right through from the water bottle, cup and menu for each setting. Shelley’s pink flamingo glasses brought the table to life and delivered the fun factor for the little ones to enjoy! I also loved the little pale pink flamingo personalised name cards set at each place. That’s right, every little party guest’s name was etched in gold on a pretty pink flamingo!
I added layers of texture and colour the tablescape with florals. We used pink palm leaves on the table and arranged colourful tropical flowers in pineapple vases.
Food & Desserts
Lisa, from etched, created a custom neon flamingo sign for the dessert bar backdrop. Plus, Jessica’s name in acrylic hung centre stage, seemingly floating above the desserts.
We offered the guests a summery menu, including islander pulled pork sliders, pineapple fudge squares, and mini magnums.
Catie from Sweetly Baked Perth created gorgeous pink flamingo and pineapple cookies. She also made incredibly delicious (addictive) fudge. After one bite, I was hooked! The baked donuts with a touch of sprinkles looked absolutely fabulous on the customised donut board by Lisa from etched.
Ruba from Ruby Chocolate Designs designed the magnificent, personalised chocolates for the event. The delicious milk chocolate was enjoyed by all the little party guests! I especially enjoyed the design featuring a pink flamingo and tropical foliage.
The extravagant cake, topped with a golden pineapple elevated on a golden cake stand, was an absolute showstopper. It was designed by my go-to cake designer Lisa, from Cakes 2 Celebrate by Lisa. Two tiers of white chocolate mud cake with layers of passionfruit ganache were topped with a glitzy golden pineapple.
I love our little lemonade stand so much! I envisioned it and my husband built it. For the party, we dressed it up as a pink flamingo cocktail lounge. Who says you can’t serve something fun at a kids party? Especially when the majority of the guests are grown-ups who love a good cocktail. And, of course, the acrylic hot pink flamingo cocktail stirrers by Lisa from etched were the perfect accessory to our drinks.
The pink punch flamingo cocktail is super easy to make. Simply mix together two litres of pineapple juice, 1 litre of cranberry juice and half a cup of strawberries. Then, add sparkling wine (ideally Prosecco) and you are all set with summer’s most refreshing beverage!
The neon pink flamingo loot bags from Hooray Day were a big hit at our tropical dedication celebration. The natural calico bags with double straw-strings featuring a hand painted flamingo, definitely had us shouting HOORAY! And brought smiles to the faces of all our little party guests!
If these party details brought some tropical fun to your world, why not create a tropical pink flamingo party for your next event?!”
