90’s Rap 40th Birthday Party

Party Details:

“This was a surprise 40th Birthday for my husband. We went with a 90s Rap theme, taking ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and turning it into Straight Outta 1983. We took a portrait of my husband (I’m a photographer so I told him I was just ‘testing the light’) and turned it into a similar portrait to the famous one of Notorious Big wearing a crown. My husband also loves cars so we incorporated a few favorites (old, new, and in between) into the centerpieces and stir sticks for the bar. Xochitl Cordova of Motion Laser Design created an incredible 3 dimensional welcome sign for the party, as well as all the vinyl elements and acrylic/laser cut items. Kids were invited to the party, so we had a chic all white bounce house that welcomed everyone. Alphalit San Diego used giant marquee letters to spell “The Biggie 40” and Popnotch balloons rounded everything out in black, silver, and matte gold. The bounce house acrylic read “I just love your flashy ways”, a nod to Notorious BIG. Cavalier bars custom built a grand bar with a matte gold shelf backdrop for the party, which was held at Downtown Works Carlsbad.” – Mirelle | Mirelle Carmichael
