Star Wars Birthday Party
This is what Marisol shared about the party- “I kept dreaming of this grand mermaid party for my daughter’s 10th Birthday. Having been designing parties all year long, I finally had the theme set for hers. I dreamt of shells and glitter and sparkly treasures. It wouldn’t happen, lol.
She had other plans and decided she wanted a Star Wars Party. I won’t lie and say I was a little bummed but the thought of Disney and Star Wars meant I had endless possibilities to design around. Because of my work schedule and the amount of events we had leading up to her actual birthday party, I had one week to throw my baby girl the party she deserved. Lucky for me I have a team of vendors that never disappoint and as long as I have a glue gun, I can make things happen.
Invites and Decor
We set the tone for her party with the custom invites from LittlestPrintShop. They did such a wonderful job and the quality is amazing. They were exactly what my baby imagined right down to the space looking envelopes.
I took a quick trip to Disneyland and purchased some small figurines so that my daughter could make terrariums based off the individual Star Wars planets. I wanted her to be involved with the decorations as much as possible.
I knew early on the I wanted the candy table to look like the window of the Millennium Falcon. The only way to achieve this was to have my husband build it for me. To tie the table in we used several of his vintage toys with a few of our new finds.
Party Entrance and Guests
He built a custom entrance for the party. Huge Marquee with the Star Wars logo, altered to spell out my daughter’s name. It spelled out Mime Wars. Mime is her nickname for Karyme. We also strung several of his vintage ships inside the canopy above the tables.
Of course no party is complete without an actual Star Wars character. Lucky for us, we found the best Rey impersonator courtesy of Papillons Events.
We also hired Carla and Jon of www.rrcreatives to give each kid a customized Star Wars Caricature of themselves. They were such a HUGE hit with both the kids and adults.
Sweets and Treats
For her custom cookies we enlisted the help of Natasha. She’s based out of San Diego and the Best cookie girl on earth. You can find her on Instagram under Natsweets. Her cookies are often times mini works of art no one wants to eat.
I knew I wanted custom, gourmet, and amazing candy apples from the super talented Roni of Ronisugarcreations. She finds ways to tie in all the elements of your party to the apples she makes.
For the cake I hired up and coming cake artist, Lucie. Her work is delicious and always exactly what I ask her for. She can also be found under Cakesbylucie on Instagram.
All my desserts came from the sweet kitchen of Lisa, owner at withapinchoflove (Instagram page). Cupcakes, Cakepops, Mousse cups, mini cheesecakes, light saber pretzel sticks, she does it all!!
I tied it all in with custom made linens. The sheer fabric with the sparkly stars gave that outer space feel. I used it on the tables and I draped the back of my candy table with it.
I wish I had take images of the goody bags before they got handed out. We bought Star War Bags at Target, and filled them with so many Star Wars items from their Dollar Spot, erasers, notebooks, coloring books, piggy banks, and even Light Sabers in addition to candy and treats! The little babies had mini back packs filled with baby snacks and socks. They were all thrilled with their gifts and goodies.
And at the end of the night my baby said she had the BEST DAY EVER!! That alone made it all worth it”.
